Australia Beyond 2020 8.40pm on Seven

Towards 2000 started on the ABC in 1981 before moving to Seven and becoming Beyond 2000 in 1985 where it lasted until 1999. After a two-year revival from 2005, it is now back, sort of, for two more episodes. Hosted by original presenter Simon Reeve, tonight it’s smart houses, driverless cars and drone deliveries before robots and zero gravity next week, which seems the perfect companion piece to next Monday’s robotic X Factor finale.

One Of Us 8.30pm on BBC First

This four-part miniseries from the BBC features a young couple at the murdered beginning just as they return from their honeymoon. As the two families reel from the news, a storm traps a murder suspect at a barn at a Scottish farm, and then things get extra murky. There’s a fine cast, including Game of Thrones’ Joe Dempsie, The Fall’s John Lynch, The Young OnesAde Edmondson, and Juliet Stevenson, who plays against type as a nervous alcoholic.
