Nine's Friday share pushes close to 40% giving it the biggest TV ratings of the year so far. The Australian Open match between Dominic Thiem and Nick Kyrgios set a new 2021 TV ratings record for a non-news program.
In primetime Friday, no non-news show apart from the tennis made it to half a million. The ABC was home to the only shows over 400,000 in the TV ratings – a repeat of Vera and an episode of Gardening Australia. The best commercial TV non-news program apart from the tennis was Seven's Better Homes and Gardens on 387,000.
