OMD Australia announced it has retained the media account for Beiersdorf brands NIVEA and Elastoplast in Australia and New Zealand, following a multi-agency pitch.

The agency has been handling NIVEA and Elastoplast’s media mandate for over 18 years. OMD's Sydney office will continue to handle the integrated media planning and buying.

Clynton Bartholomeusz, Beiersdorf managing director, Australia and New Zealand, said: "Today’s consumer has an increasingly complex and dynamic decision-making journey.

"As we strive to place Beiersdorf’s loved and respected brand’s NIVEA and Elastoplast at the forefront of consumers’ minds, we needed a strong partner to navigate this complexity and ensure our brands are present at the right time, place and with the most effective messaging.

"We have that with OMD, a longstanding partnership, that will help us to continue to connect with consumers and deliver our future growth plans."

Laura Nice, co-CEO of OMD Australia, said: "OMD is incredibly proud to be continuing our longstanding partnership with Beiersdorf.

"Our focus on delivering partnerships of value will see us collaborate and evolve our capability together, delivering growth for Beiersdorf and achieving their future business goals.

"The team are thrilled to have the opportunity to continue such a strong relationship of delivering innovative and effective work for the NIVEA and Elastoplast brands."

This comes after OMD Australia was ranked as the top performing agency in the country by the latest RECMA ‘Qualitative Domestic Report’ released in October 2022.

Agency profiles range from average, good, high through to dominant, with OMD being the only Australian media agency to consistently appear in the dominant profile since 2015.

Globally, OMD Worldwide has been named the best performing global media network for the fourth consecutive edition over the past two years in the latest RECMA Diagnostics Report. OMD is ranked number one in three regions and eight countries.
