TV Demand: Netflix scores a clean sweep with Stranger Things

• The first seven episodes of the latest season have come in at 124.9 points above average this week

Netflix’s Stranger Things has once again topped the TV demand charts in Australia and New Zealand, as the release date for Season Four, Volume Two (July 1), quickly approaches.

The first seven episodes of the latest season have come in at 124.9 points above market average in Australia and 57.52 points above average in New Zealand. Thanks to its inclusion in the new season, Kate Bush’s 1985 single Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) has topped the ARIA Charts this week.

The Boys on Amazon Prime has ranked second in Australia, 34.61 points above the market average, and third in New Zealand with 27.82 above average. Based on the comic book of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the latest season follows a team of vigilantes as they combat superpowered individuals who abuse their abilities.

Ranking third in Australia and second in New Zealand is Obi-wan Kenobi with 34.24 and 29.54 points, respectively. The newest Lucasfilm Disney+ series has now aired four of its six instalments, as the series will reportedly run in select theatres on Wednesday, June 22 - the day the series finale airs on Disney +.

The Mandalorian has placed fourth in Australia’s digital originals with 24.71 points above market average. The show placed sixth in New Zealand with a difference of 14.98, as well as ranking sixth in Australia’s overall TV shows.

Falling from third to fifth in New Zealand’s digital originals is sci-fi series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on Paramount +. The show ranked 18.14 above market in New Zealand average and 18.84 above market average in Australia.

Our Flag Means Death placed fifth in Australia’s digital originals (23,56), fourth in New Zealand’s digital originals (19.04), sixth in Australia’s overall TV shows and fifth in New Zealand’s overall TV shows as a second season has been confirmed.
