Ellie Rogers has announced she has joined Snapchat as the ANZ sales director for the social media company.

Rogers shared the news on LinkedIn and wrote: "I am delighted to announce that I will be starting a new chapter at Snapchat as ANZ sales director. As I met the kind, smart and creative team over at Snapchat, I was blown away by the team culture, the community and the incredible levels of innovation.

"Across Australia, Snapchat has a community of 7.5M people (75% of 13 - 34-year-olds), and I am excited to work with partners across the region to see the levels of growth & impact we can achieve together. Super pumped to join the amazing team at Snapchat ANZ on Monday!" she added.

Rogers new role comes after she announced her departure from Meta back in November.

Rogers spent the last ten years managing agency sales teams at Facebook and Instagram and will report to the new managing director ANZ, Tony Keusgen.

Snap’s APAC President, Ajit Mohan, said: "Ellie is highly regarded across the industry and brings an enormous depth of understanding of the media agency sector. She’ll be an invaluable asset both to Tony’s team and our partners across Australia and New Zealand."

At the time, she shared her news in a LinkedIn post and wrote: "After nearly a decade, my time at meta has come to an end and I am now looking for my next leadership and board positions.

“The recent economic downturn has affected the work of many, and the support I’ve witnessed and felt myself for those also impacted has been heart warming. I’m beyond grateful to meta, and our partners and proud of the incredible things we achieved together.”

Rogers said that as part of Meta ANZ’s executive leadership team the business grew to becoming the multi billion dollar company it is today. “We helped small and big business grow their customer base and we had a lot of fun creating memories & friendships that will last forever,” she said.

Rogers previously held positions at Carat, Profero and Ikon Communications.

News of Rogers' new appointment comes after Snap Inc. named Keusgen as managing director ANZ, replacing the outgoing Kathryn Carter.

Keusgen was most recently with Quantium, a leader in AI and Data Science, where he was the global chief customer officer. Prior to that, he spent over a decade with Google where he held a number of roles in the APAC region, including managing director of both Indonesia and New Zealand, and head of technology ANZ.
