Snap Inc. Asia Pacific general manager Kathryn Carter will depart the tech company at the end of March.

Carter has been with the organisation for almost seven years and instrumental in its growth across Asia, Australia and New Zealand.

As Snap Inc. begins the search for a new leader for the APAC region Snap’s president Asia-Pacific, Ajit Mohan praised Carter for her dedication to the company.

“Kathryn has been instrumental in solidifying Snapchat’s stronghold in Australia as well as driving growth across Asia, demonstrating incredible leadership for teams across the region during her seven years with the company.

“We are tremendously grateful for her many contributions and wish her well,” Mohan added.

Carter spoke fondly of her time with Snap and said: “I am privileged to have been part of the Snap journey over the past seven years.

“From launching in a shared work space in Sydney, to offices and teams throughout the region, I am very proud of the team who have driven growth in a kind, smart and creative way.

“I am grateful to my team, and Snap leadership for the many opportunities along the way, and look forward to cheering on their growth from the sidelines. I am excited by what’s to come, and to build again,” Carter added.

This comes after Snap Chief Executive Evan Spiegel revealed the company’s photo messaging app Snapchat now has 750 million monthly active users, while speaking during an investor presentation on Thursday, reports Reuters.

Spiegel said at the presentation: "Today, we’re pleased to share that our community has now grown to over 750 million monthly active users. We reach more than 75% of 13- to 34 year-olds in over 20 countries, with these countries representing over 50% of the advertising market.

"Over 100 million daily active users have joined Snapchat since our last Investor Day, with our community now totaling more than 375 million daily active users."
