Snapchat has announced at its Snap Partner Summit that it will make going to a music festival or seeing a live concert even more immersive with new augmented reality experiences and technology.

The platform's community is full of music fans, and 85% of Snapchatters report using the app to enhance their experience of going to see live music.

Snapchat is building on its multi-year partnership with Live Nation to enhance live music with augmented reality and bringing custom AR experiences to 16 of the biggest festivals, including:

• Beyond Wonderland Southern California (San Bernardino, CA)
• Electric Daisy Carnival (Las Vegas, NV)
• Creamfields South (Hylands Park, UK)
• Roots Picnic (Philadelphia, PA)
• The Governors Ball (New York, NY)
• Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival (Manchester, TN)
• Day Trip Festival (Long Beach, CA)
• Wireless Festival (Finsbury Park, UK)
• Lollapalooza Paris (Paris, France)
• Rolling Loud Miami (Miami, FL)
• Lollapalooza (Chicago, IL)
• Creamfields North (Daresbury Estate, UK)
• Reading Festival (Reading, UK)
• Leeds Festival (Bramham Park, UK)
• Lights On (Mountain View, CA)
• Austin City Limits (Austin, TX)

Snapchat's AR Compass and 3D map of the grounds will be available at each of the festivals mentioned, helping Snapchat users make their way to the right stage at the right time and finding their friends instead of getting lost in the crowd. With custom AR Lenses and enhance Snaps, festival-goers can truly see music differently.

New Integration with Disguise

Snapchat also shared its new integration with Disguise, the industry’s leader in live event visualisation and virtual production technology, that will bring Snap AR to some of the world’s largest venues and tours.

Carolina Arguelles Navas, global AR product strategy at Snapchat, explained: "During a show, fans can see AR visuals through the Snapchat camera that interact with the on-stage visual production, bringing the artist’s creative vision to life like never before."

Kygo

Snapchat is also teaming up with one of the DJ Kygo to create AR experiences for some of his concerts this summer so fans can immerse themselves in his music. "We can’t wait to work with more artists later this year," Arguelles Navas added.
