Foxtel has extended the contract of its long-term captioning provider Ai-Media to June 2020.

Ai-Media has been Foxtel’s captioning provider since the launch of captions as part of Foxtel Network Australia’s (FNA) digital service in 2004. FNA now delivers captioning to over 32 channels/services to world-leading quality standards.

Foxtel’s director of programming Ross Crowley said: “Captioning is a core element of the value proposition for Foxtel subscribers. As we grow our subscriber base with more affordable offerings, Foxtel is committed to continuing to increase the amount of quality captioned programming. Ai-Media’s proven ability to consistently deliver quality at scale through a powerful innovation pipeline makes them a natural partner over the next five years.”

Ai-Media CEO Tony Abrahams (pictured) said: “We are delighted to have extended our partnership with Australia’s leading subscription television provider, and our foundation client, for a further 5 years over what will be an exciting period of innovation. Providing seamless access to the unrivalled variety and quality content on Foxtel is a great privilege for all who work at Ai-Media, and we are grateful for the opportunity to continue this work.”

Ai-Media supplies captions to a range of broadcasters and is the only Australian captioning provider to publish regular independent quality audits.
