It’s been a tough year, so throw a shrimp on the barbie, fetch a cold one from the fridge, and get set for a wild few weeks of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! on Channel 10 and 10 Play.

Premiering Monday, 3 January at 7.30pm, hosts Dr. Chris Brown and Julia Morris are back, coming to you from the most dangerous place on Earth: Australia.

And while the pair have failed to read the fine print in their contracts under “things that can kill you”, 10 believes their brave 2022 cast are so good, they’re going straight to the pool room.

Back in January, former Bachelor Australia contestant Abbie Chatfield won season seven of I’m a Celebrity Get Me… Out of Here after defeating Grant Denyer and winning $100,000 for her charity.

The finale was broadcast live on channel 10 from Sydney. Despite Covid-19 the show managed to have a full cast and a studio audience for the finale.

In a season set on home soil where everyday tasks whittled the celebrity numbers down before the Hell Holes of Destiny sealed their massive ejection fate, the public then spoke and crowned Abbie, Queen of the Aussie jungle.

On winning $100,000 for her chosen charity, Dementia Australia, Abbie said: “I can’t believe it, me doing this, everything was for Grandma. I’m so so happy and really grateful I could do it for her.”

The seventh season of I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! boasted an average national total audience of 1.11 million viewers across the season, achieving its highest commercial shares ever. The finale was watched by an average national audience of 1.23 million, peaking at 1.39 million.

The show reached 8.17 million people nationally and posted record commercial shares, including in under 50s and all key demographics (16 to 39s and 25 to 54s).
