TV Ratings close up: The Amazing Race Australia finale

• The Cowboys Brendon Crawley and Jackson Dening hit the mat first to win the $250,000 cash prize

Last night on 10, 618,000 people watched the finale of The Amazing Race Australia. At the end of the show, 691,000 tuned in to see The Cowboys Brendon Crawley and Jackson Dening hit the mat first to win both the show and the $250,000 cash prize.

For their final challenge of the race, teams raced up Mount Kosciuszko to Beau Ryan who was waiting at the finish line. In close second was The Gold Coast Girls, Ashleigh and Amanda, who raced valiantly. In third place were The Super Sikhs, Jaskirat and Anurag.

Head of programming, 10 ViacomCBS, Daniel Monaghan, said: “The reaction we had to The Amazing Race Australia this season has been fantastic. The race taking part in Australia this year enabled viewers to revel in this great, southern land of ours, and witness our teams battle through the toughest season ever. 

“This season of The Amazing Race Australia boasted a much younger audience than its competitors. The Grand Finale and The Finish Line saw increases in all audience including under 50s and all key demographics, reaching more than 7.97million people throughout the season.

“I want to thank our hardworking cast and crew for their commitment and passion, our very talented host Beau Ryan, the team at Eureka Productions and everyone at Network 10 for their incredible efforts.

"And of course, congratulations to The Cowboys, Brendon and Jackson, who in an epic conclusion won the Race of a lifetime and $250,000 in prize money.”

• 30.1% commercial share in total people.
• 38.9% commercial share in under 50s.
• 36.3% commercial share in 25 to 54s.
• Biggest live stream episode ever, up 100%
