• BBC Worldwide North America have announced the sale of The Kettering Incident to Amazon Prime

BBC Worldwide North America and Amazon will bring season one of the Australian drama The Kettering Incident exclusively to Amazon Prime Video in the US. Prime members in the US can stream or download every episode at no additional cost to their membership starting on September 30. Winner of the Special Jury Prize at the Series Mania Festival in Paris, The Kettering Incident stars Elizabeth Debicki (The Night Manager) and Matthew Le Nevez (Offspring).

Co-created by the Tasmanian writer Victoria Madden (Lynda La Plante’s Trial and Retribution, The Bill, Halifax FP) and producer Vincent Sheehan (Animal Kingdom, The Hunter, The Rover), and shot entirely in Tasmania, the eight episode series tells the story of Anna Macy (Debicki), a doctor who left the town of Kettering when she was 14, shortly after her best friend disappeared while they were playing in the forest. Anna returns 15 years later to a town struggling to survive - torn apart by clashes between environmentalists and loggers. Anna’s reappearance causes a stir. Theories and rumors persist about what really happened to the girls that night – from Anna killing her best friend to alien abduction. Then another girl disappears. Anna is drawn to discover what really happened, uncovering secrets buried deep in her mind and the heart of Kettering and its people.

“Following the successful launch of The Kettering Incident in Australia, we are now bringing the mystery drama exclusively to Amazon Prime Video for U.S audiences to enjoy.” said Matt Forde, EVP, Content Production, Sales & Distribution, BBC Worldwide North America. “Amazon is already home to two of our most beloved programs, Doctor Who and Orphan Black, and we believe it is the perfect place for this rarefied story as it ventures into American homes.”

The Kettering Incident is a Foxtel commissioned series. The cast includes Henry Nixon, Anthony Phelan, Damon Gameau, Damien Garvey, Sacha Horler, Sianoa Smit-McPhee, Ben Oxenbould, Suzi Dougherty, Tilda Cobham-Hervey, Dylan Young, and Neil Pigot. Many Tasmanian actors feature in the series including Alison Whyte, Kris McQuade, Brad Kannegiesser, Katie Robertson, Marcus Hensley, Nathan Spencer, and Matt Burton.

The Kettering Incident is produced by Porchlight Films in association with Sweet Potato Films, with Vincent Sheehan, Victoria Madden, and Andy Walker as producers. Madden is also showrunner, and her fellow writers are Andrew Knight, Cate Shortland, and Louise Fox. Rowan Woods and Tony Krawitz direct. The executive producers are Foxtel Head of Drama Penny Win, Liz Watts, and Anita Sheehan.
