Icon Agency announces Niall Hughes as senior account director

Icon Agency has announced that it has welcomed Niall Hughes as senior account director Sydney, bringing a wealth of PR experience from across industries including corporate, FMCG, entertainment, health, construction and not for profit.

Hughes comes to Icon after almost four years as an account director at Niche Marketing Group, where he led strategy and implementation for a range of organisations including Arthritis NSW, James Hardie, AMES and atWork Australia. Prior to this he worked at History Will Be Kind and S2i Communications in Australia, and in both agency and freelance roles in London.

“Helping to spearhead this new step in Icon’s expansion as part of its multi-disciplinary team of experts is a thrilling opportunity. I’m looking forward to working across the Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra offices to drive results for our clients,” Hughes said.

Icon’s managing director, Joanne Painter, said Hughes’ appointment was another step in expanding Icon’s NSW offering, bolstered by the opening of the agency’s NSW HQ at Jones Bay Wharf Pyrmont earlier this month.

“Niall is an experienced PR professional who will be a valuable addition to our rapidly growing NSW team.

“At Icon, we are keenly focused on building a truly integrated national agency to give clients access to best-in-class creative communications and digital transformations. Exemplary senior staff like Niall help us expand our offering, regardless of location,” Painter said.
